Description
This sword was specially made by Larcom and Vessyof Portsea for EMWHearn, a Royal Navy medical officer, the name on the hilt.
This is the epitome of the British swords maker's art and, according to a knowledgeable collector, is a fine example.
Weighing slightly less than two pounds, it is easy to wield in closequarters.
The 37" blade is beautifully etched with the crown over an anchor and the official lions crest.
The handle looks like sharkskin for a non-slip grip.
The handle is capped by the British lion, and also bears an image of the crown overan anchor.
The metal that isn't steel appears to be brass, aside from what may be a gold proof medallion. A rare and incredible deal at this price. The etching is unique.
