1948 Thermos Brand Vacuum* Ware Thermos Carafe-bakelite & chrome F*S

Description

This is an American Thermos Bottle Company vacuum carafe in ebony black bakelite with a chrome spout and handle. The inside is in perfect condition, thus it is usable. The body is jet-black bakelite. My parents were married in 1948 and this was a wedding present.
My Mother used to pull this out for the holidays and I remember this in the 50s.  Mother regarded this as immensely elegant (it is), and remains in excellent preowned condition and presents very nicely. Measures appx 10in H x 5in dia. Marked The American Thermos Bottle Co. made in Norwich, Conn. The vacuum dewar is the original, 563-F. The stopper is original, the rubber sleeve is the only item that indicates its age.  It has shriveled a bit and no longer fits snugly, but is perfectly serviceable unless you turn the garage upside down!
