Available for Buy It Now is a Antique 19th Century American German Shell Guard Hunters Hunting Dagger / Short Sword! The iron Shell Guard is very well made, I wish it was maker Marked, many very nice Daggers made in the 1830's like this one were not marked. I looked, I can not see one. This dagger is iron mounted with checkered handle and is in excellent condition. The pommel cap is iron and flat on the top. The top 6" of the blade has a double edge grind for gutting. The old Carbon Steel Bowie style blade is in excellent condition and it's length is 16 1/4" and the total length is 21 3/4".
