Antique Bayonet Knife Blade 10" and & Scabbard 11" All Metal Estate Military

The blade on this knife is 10" long and the case is 11" long.  They are both all metal but I don't know what kind as I don't know metals for bayonets.  The blade slips into the scabbard but I don't know if the blade ever had a handle or is missing a handle.  The top area of the scabbard has some residual black paint but the rest is apparently all worn off.  The knife has a blade on one side but I don't know if it is for right handed or left handed or for both.  There was no rifle - just the two pieces shown in the photos.  The scabbard had a round tip on the narrow end and the top has a rim around it and a protruding knob (also metal) where I think it attached to a rifle.   I don't know if this is foreign or Civil War or WWl or WWII or another war.  There is a lot of thin rusting on the scabbard and on the top of the knife (handle) area.  I have looked everywhere for any writing or numbers/dates and I don't see any.  This may only be goof for parts or maybe useless - I just don't know.   The knife fits perfectly inside.  I love the history on the old items I found at estate sales and would love to know if anyone knows how old this is.   Thank you for your patience with me.   The knife from end to end is 10" long and the scabbard is 11" long.  The knife still has it's tip.  I am auctioning As Is dur to any issues I have honestly described.   Final bidder to forward payment to eBay within 1 day plus .65 S/H which includes tracking number.  NO payment received from or shipping to outside the 48 connected United States and NO Canada, Mexico or PR  Please.  Thank you for looking and Have A Good Day!
