Description
I bought this around 1985 from an old man who said he exchanged it for a can or 2 of meat on an island [ I can't remember which island] in the Pacific during WWII. He told me after we won the island from the Japanese, that there was no food left on the island and thepeople were
starving.
That is his name on it - W A Weaber. I tried to find info on him, but didn't have any luck.
I don't know if it was made in the Philippines, but it seems to be what most listings like this say.
It is apx 22.5" long with its handle/ the blade is 16.5" long and 1.25" wide, /
the wooden sheath is 18.25" long and just over 2" wide at its widest point.
The handle is hard wood. The blade is clean [no rust] but dull and has a few dark spots along with light scratches all over it [ part of the decoration?]. The wood sheath has the tiniest nick out of the very tip - see picture # 5 and a small hole in the back [ looks like it was made that way ]
please zoom in on pictures
I am not a knife seller - just an lady who sells antique books, but it is time to let someone else enjoy this WWII gem.
