Circa 1922 Irish Free State Army officer's sword

Description

An Irish Army officer's sword, the blade marked 'Proved' and etched with a harp above Celtic interlace motif surrounding the badge of Oglaigh na hEireann set in a sunburst, on brass hilt with Oglaigh na hEireann badge, with wire-bound fishskin/sharkskin grip, in leather-bound scabbard. Sword length 32 1/2" long with the overall length of 39". Come with a ran leather covered sheath, and the makers mark is a star appearing to be one of the Wilkerson sword makers? Created and issued after the 1921 revolt and the establishment of the Irish Free State 1922. Blade is clean and has no issues.
