Contact point ends are hardened tool steel that has been precision ground on a radius of the smallest hole the gage will enter.
Measuring range is 5/16-1/2", 1/2-3/4", 3/4-1-1/4", 1 1/4-2 1/8", 2 1/8-3 1/2",3 1/2-6" and 8-12.7mm, 12.7-19mm, 19-32mm, 32-54mm , 54-90mm, 90-52.4mm.
