Vintage Antique Roman Style Sawtooth Bayonet Short Sword

We could not find any markings on this short sword.  We believe it to be late 19th century.
The blade is about 21 1/2 inches long, the handle is about 5 inches long counting the hilt and the entire sword is just shy of 28 inches long.
The wood handle is not cracked but there is a very small bit broken off at the very tip that we did not see while taking the pictures.
It is a short sword, there is not bayonet lug.  The blade is pitted and the tip is worn down a little but we feel this is still in very good condition.  Very unusual to have a sawback short sword.
The sheath is brown leather that is also in very good condition and has brass fittings.
