Vintage Collectible Sword W Sheath 35" Overall Length in the sheath with a 27" long carbon steel blade. Notice the nicks on the edge of the blade towards the front of it, could it possibly be from battle? Perhaps. Also a small spot of surface rust, no serious pitting. Notice on the one side of the handle where the catch is broken off, the piece that would catch your opponents sword in place, not very noticeable except when you notice the two side don't match, examine the photos closely and you will see. Its possible that the catch piece could have also been broken off during actual use, though we have no background info on this item and cannot prove any orgins because it was found at an estate sale among a large collection of knives and swords. It seems very old but we do not really know how old it could be, there are no obvious makers marks on it. Great display piece though with lots of character and nice patina, or put a new edge on it and put it back into use. Great prop and decor piece. Weighs about 2lbs 6oz. The sheath is hard and ridged, very firm and covered with an olive green canvas type material, Military perhaps? If you know anything about this sword, any info would be much appreciated and we would consider any reasonable, educated offer. We find these knives and swords at various rummage sales n such. We do not clean or oil them, they are sold as is, so a little TLC can go a really long way with these knives, they will shine up nicer than they look in the photos for sure. Pre owned of course so they may show signs of use, wear, age and tear. Great addition to any collection or would make an excellent gift idea. Look closely at all the photos as pictures count as item description.
